One set, unlimited possibilities
How will you use JollyHeap blocks today? Will it be an obstacle course?
JollyHeap blocks are preschool teaching aids that work in everyday sessions with children:
Construction material and model-making
Towers, bridges, buildings, animal figures. Also a model of a chosen space, an experience every child is meant to have.
Learning aid
Sorting, patterns, shapes and solids, spatial relations: maths before the digits arrive. With the Numo line, also operations and spotting the mistake in them.
Equipment for physical activity
Getting over obstacle courses, balance paths and platforms. Builds physical fitness, coordination and gross motor skills.
Calm-down zone
A den, a tunnel or a dividing wall. A place where a child steps away from the stimuli and comes back to the group on their own.
Material for free play
The blocks have no single correct use, so the idea belongs to the child. And daily free play is a condition of development, not a break from learning.
Scenery and themed play
A shop, a ship, a castle, a backdrop for a play. The group builds it themselves and rearranges it in five minutes when the theme of the day changes.
Areas of learning
How does JollyHeap support work in a preschool?
One preschool teaching aid covers many areas of learning. Pick an area to see exactly what the child does.
Areas of children’s development

Children explore material properties, test the stability of flat and three-dimensional structures and work out why a build collapsed, learning to draw conclusions and improve their designs.

The blocks become an obstacle course: the child jumps, climbs, crawls through a tunnel and finds their balance on a narrow path. The soft foam means a fall doesn’t end the game, and the course can be rearranged in a few minutes when it turns out too easy.

Sorting blocks, recognising solids, reproducing patterns and building symmetrical arrangements are a natural introduction to geometry and spatial orientation. The Numo line with digits and operators puts abstract concepts straight into a child’s hands.

Raising large structures calls for teamwork. Children naturally learn to negotiate rules, divide roles, share materials and work towards a shared goal.

Creating without rigid instructions builds a sense of agency and responsibility. A structure toppling over teaches that mistakes are a natural stage of making, and it builds persistence.

The two colours in a set are enough for a mosaic, a chessboard or a pattern across a whole wall of the room. The same pile of blocks is a castle in the afternoon and a shop counter the next day. The scenery keeps up with the child’s idea.
Sensory and play zones

The fabric has a distinct texture, the foam gives under pressure, and pulling two blocks apart takes real strength. Three different kinds of input in one object: touch, resistance and deep pressure.

These are blocks for the construction area in a preschool: they stay in the room permanently, so every child in every age group can reach for them on their own. After play they pack away into a cube, and 300 blocks take up 0.5 m³.

Frequently asked questions
Which preschool blocks work for the whole group?
Large soft magnetic blocks work well with a whole group, because several children build from one set at once and a structure falls quietly. Basic is 100 blocks and the most common first purchase; Joy has 150 blocks for larger groups. For a group of 25 children we suggest at least three Basic 100 sets or two Joy 150 sets. The blocks are washed whole in a washing machine at 30 °C, without removing the cover.
Isn’t joining and separating the blocks too hard for younger children?
The low weight of the individual pieces (from 50 g to 150 g) means children handle them with ease, and the magnets make joining at different angles intuitive. The resistance when pulling apart is deliberately tuned to work the muscles and deep senses without causing frustration.
Are the products safe as regards swallowing a magnet or physical injury?
Safety is the foundation of the JollyHeap design. The absence of hard edges eliminates the risk of bruising, and a structure collapses quietly, so it does not startle children with a bang. The neodymium magnet is sealed deep inside the block, surrounded by foam and reinforced fabric, and every block is X-rayed before shipping: we check that there are no foreign objects inside and that the magnets are in place.
How do we keep the set clean in a preschool?
Day-to-day cleaning means vacuuming or wiping the surface with a damp cloth. For deeper dirt, the blocks can be washed whole in a washing machine at 30 °C (short cycle, no more than 6 blocks of the same colour per load), with no need to remove the cover.
